[Sidus TC Sync] Import an XML into Final Cut Pro

Import a Sidus TC Sync XML into Final Cut Pro and match the correct version preset.

Sidus TC Sync provides XML presets for Final Cut Pro 7, Final Cut Pro X 10.2.x, 10.3.x, 10.4.x, and Final Cut Pro 11. Select the preset that matches the version used by editorial.

Before importing

  • Keep original media online and in the same location used by Sidus TC Sync.
  • Export with the correct Final Cut Pro XML preset. See Export an XML project.
  • Create or open the Final Cut Pro library for the production.

Import the XML

  1. In Final Cut Pro, choose File > Import > XML....
  2. Select the XML exported from Sidus TC Sync.
  3. Choose the destination event when prompted.
  4. Open the imported event or project.
  5. Verify that media is connected and that several camera/audio combinations are frame accurate.

Working with different Final Cut Pro versions

Final Cut Pro's XML formats differ by version. If an XML will not import, first confirm the Sidus TC Sync export preset and the Final Cut Pro version. Re-export using the matching preset before attempting to convert the XML manually.
