[Sidus TC Sync] Import an XML into DaVinci Resolve

Import a Sidus TC Sync XML into DaVinci Resolve 17 or later and relink offline media.

Sidus TC Sync supports XML export for DaVinci Resolve 17 and later.

Before importing

  • Make sure the original media is connected and has not been renamed or moved since it was imported into Sidus TC Sync.
  • Export using the DaVinci Resolve XML preset. See Export an XML project.
  • Create or open the Resolve project that will contain the synchronized timeline.

Import the timeline

  1. In DaVinci Resolve, open the Edit page.
  2. Choose File > Import Timeline > Import AAF, EDL, XML....
  3. Select the XML exported from Sidus TC Sync.
  4. In the import dialog, enable automatic media import or relink if the source media is not already in the Media Pool.
  5. Confirm the import.
  6. Open the imported timeline and spot-check sync at the beginning and end of several takes.

If clips are offline

Use Resolve's relink function to point the project to the folder containing the original media. If relinking fails, check that filenames and folder structure have not changed since the Sidus TC Sync export.
