[PR-4] Files & Recording Settings

This guide covers PR-4 file naming and management, and the recording settings (sample rate, bit depth, pre-record, arming, and format). A CSV report is generated automatically in each recording folder. File settings are greyed out during recording.

Take Naming

Material file names use a fixed Scene / T / Number format:

Scene: the scene name (English letters, case-sensitive, and special characters).
T: a one-character scene section.
Number: the section number.

Next Take and Last Take

Next Take: pre-edit the next file: Scene name, Fast Note (15 built-in phrases such as Good, NG, Wild Track, Room Tone, plus custom), Folder, and Track Name.
Last Take: edit the most recent file, with an added Playback function (progress bar with scrubbing, elapsed and remaining time, play/pause, stop).

Folders and Projects

The folder hierarchy is fixed: Project > Date (YYMMDD) > File Name. Create a New Project to set a custom recording folder, which becomes the default storage path. The date follows the system clock.

Track Names

Assign a custom name to any of the 6 tracks: L (Mix L), R (Mix R), and single tracks 1 to 4.

Playback and File Search

Under Folder, browse the SD or SSD by project and date to locate and play a file. Playback supports switching to the previous or next track.

Recording Settings

Sample Rate: 48kHz, 96kHz, or 192kHz.
Bit Depth: 24-bit, 32-bit, or 32-bit float.
PreRec: Off, 3s, 6s, or 10s of buffered audio captured before you press record. Set sample rate, bit depth, and arming first.
Arm Set: enable or disable recording tracks and choose the storage card. Per card you can set Poly (multitrack) or LR Only (mix tracks only), or "/" to disable recording to that card. Disarming a track does not turn off its physical input.
Format: view card usage and format the SD or SSD. After formatting, only the most recent folder is retained and its contents are cleared.

For higher recording stability, format the memory card in the device before first use.
